Improve your Memory

Hmm, where do I put my car keys? What is my shopping list? What's my name?. Well, you're not alone who forgot anything. Everyone forgets things occasionally. Our memories are an integral part of who we are, but as we get older our memory declines. There are 2 different memory, long-term memory, and short-term memory. Long-term memory is a memory in which you hold information in your brain from the past. On the other hand, short-term memory is the capacity to hold small amounts of information in the brain. Still, memory loss is nothing to take lightly.

Alright, without further due here is the little advice to improve your memory.

The first thing to do is repeat and retrieve. Any time you learn something new information, you're more likely to mentally record that information if it's repeated. Repeat what you hear out loud and try using it in a sentence. Write it down and read it aloud. Also, try to retrieve the information without looking at where you wrote it down. Practicing retrieval creates more long-term memory.

The second one is a focus. Focus your attention is one of the major components of memory. In order for information to transfer from your short-term memory into your long-term memory. Try to study in a place free of any distractions such as television, mobile, and other distractions.

The third one is physical activity and staying mentally active. Doing physical activity could increase blood flow to your whole body, including your brain. This might help keep your memory sharp. On the other hand, mental activity will stimulate activities that help keep your brain in good shape. Try to play crossword puzzles or maybe learn to play some musical instrument.

The last one is to have some sleep. Researchers agreed that sleep is important for memory and learning. Having a nap after you learn something new can actually help you learn faster and remember better. But it doesn't mean you have to sleep all day long without doing anything.

Ladies and gentlemen, that's all a little advice to improve your memory. I hope this advice is helpful to you for improving your memory either short or long-term. Thank you and have a nice day 😀.
